You may discover that your design will work better if you move some of these things. Remember that changing these things are possible, but it will cost you a bit more. For instance, to make your design more efficient, you may need to change things such as door directionless, but is one which can make access easier and will direct kitchen traffic in a much more efficient way.

A good place to proceed with the design is decided on the location of the larger kitchen objects. The most important, the stove, refrigerator and sink are the easiest to start with. These should ideally form a work triangle, and allow efficient movement between the three.

To maximize light in the kitchen, it is commonly best to place the sink under the largest window. The refrigerator and the stove should ideally be divided with work surfaces to ensure good energy efficiency. Counter surfaces on both sides of the stove, helps with preparing and cooking foods, while placing the refrigerator next to the door avoids needless traffic through the preparation triangle.
