When a kitchen has been redone with a more modern look, there is no need to panic because the old kitchen cabinets were made of wood. This is actually a very easy solution. Have the cabinet bases painted in black and then replace the doors with aluminum framed doors. This will bring the cabinets right up to par with the appliances and thousands of dollars in new cabinets will be saved.
Smaller kitchens can also benefit from new cabinet doors. Having solid wood doors will often make a small room look even smaller. Take the old ones off and use glass doors that will actually open up the room. The only kicker to these doors is that you will now have to make sure that cabinets stay clean and organized.
One of the more inexpensive options to use would be laminate kitchen cabinet doors. They are usually much less expensive than solid wood doors and are also very easy to clean up. If the previous cabinet doors were suffering from a build up that destroyed the doors over time, this should be a serious consideration.
