How To Properly Install Wall Fountains And Create A Table Top Fountain

by Wyatt Fisk

Indoor wall fountains are perfect additions to liven up the look of a home. They instantaneously produce a relaxing environment through the sound of cascading water outlining the wall. More often than not, these water features are placed at the entry ways so that they could be immediately seen by visitors and family members alike. However, if you truly want to maximize the design prowess of these fountains, you may want to try including them on the main interior design of your home to create a different vibe that would enamor your visitors for much longer.

To set up wall fountains, it is important to have these tools near you so that you don't have to go back and forth in your garage to pick them: drywall anchors, screw driver, a pencil, a drill and a hammer. Before your start drilling on your wall, make sure that you have read all the necessary instructions included on the package of your wall fountain. It is important to note that some fountains are already set up and only needs hanging, while there are also some types that have parts that needs to be connected before they can be used. If you're worried about the connections though, don't worry because most of the connections that you need to do are already direct processes that are easy to follow; however, it is still necessary to refer to the instructions as fountain models vary from one another.

The next thing to do is to locate the best possible flat wall surface where the water will flow smoothly, but a wall with ridges, curves and other patterns could also make a more dramatic effect for your water fountain. Properly mark the wall where the fountain will be mounted so that you can properly position your water feature. Once you're done marking the wall, decide on how you will hang your fountain. Basically, wall fountains can be mounted in two ways: the first one is to have slots at the back of the fountain where you can insert the screws, and the second one is by placing a bracket on the wall, which is an easier option as it is less extensive to do and is more appropriate for a large wall fountain.

Because the second option is always the easiest means to install a wall mounted fountain, the next step is to drill holes on the wall where you will place the anchors that will support the fountain brackets. Once the anchors and brackets are in place, you can now hang your wall fountain carefully. Before you actually plug the cord, make sure that you already fill your fountain with the right amount of water; enough to cover the water pump, but not too full as the water may bubble over the edge of the basin while in use. With all these things in place, you can now plug in your wall fountain and enjoy its relaxing sound and view.

If a wall fountain would not complement your budget outlay, you can still have your own water feature in the form of a homemade tabletop fountain. This type of fountain is a project that you can do yourself. All you need are plastic tubing, a pump, stone ornaments, and a medium to large size ceramic, clear or colored glass bowl. To start with, place the pump inside the bowl and attach the plastic tubing to it.

Once you have placed the pump and tube inside, you can fill the bowl with your stone ornaments or other accents to make it more aesthetically appealing. These stones can also hide the cord of the pump, or if you want you can just tape the cord to the side of the bowl that is not too visible. Then, slowly add water inside the bowl enough to cover the pump. After this, you can now plug in the cord and take pleasure in watching the cascading water of your homemade tabletop fountain.

Indoor wall fountains are great decorative pieces that could liven up a rather dull looking wall. Aside from producing a panoramic view inside one's home, a wall mounted fountain is also capable of inducing a relaxing environment through the sound of cascading water. Aside from the wall fountain, the tabletop fountain is also a good means to bring in a water feature inside the home without the need for extensive installations.
